Stihl 034 Oiling failure
« on: August 28, 2024, 02:15:18 pm »
Howdy,

I've been collecting some older saws, and I found two really nice 034s, one a new build, the other a lightly used specimen. Both from Ebay. Interestingly, both of them have stopped oiling about a half hour after I started using them.

Is there a known issue or vulnerability to this problem? I will try to replace oil pumps and oil lines, but I was just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this.

Thanks.

Simple checks first.
What I would do is flush tank, clean tank strainer make sure not clogged up and make sure line not clogged going to oiler and out.  Also checking worm gear and making sure tab still tighten on too.

Never a issue with this on 034-036 saws oiling. Threads on them here but no oiler issues.
