Now I think I got all those anti vib bushings installed correctly .If any is missing something I would think it's the forward right hand looking aft to forward on the saw .

That thing was partly dissassembeled when I got it so anything is possible .

Seems to me the thing might have had a .325 bar on it too . I do know the clutch drum is the small splined because I had to use an OEM rim .Oregon won't interchange with Stihl  for some reason on that small spline .The IPL lists both for the 034 but I think only the larger for the 036 as OEM equipment .

The  drum bearing was different too .Seems like I spent as much time reading IPL's to figure out what was what than rebuilding the damned thing .

It probabley is for that matter .I think I might have had to do a little "vise " work on it but after so many I forget what I did to to some .

That shouldn't matter because the top handle attaches to the lower tank/handle .That obvious had been replaced at some point in time with the flippy cap deal from maybe a 360 or some later model . Kevin will sort it out I'm sure .

I was always curious of how that thing would stake up to another 60 cc .The only one I had on hand being an 038 Av but it was souped so that wouldn't be a good test . Next a couple of Mac 610's ,again apples and oranges .

The plot thickens .The number for the 034 cover is 1125 080 1606 .036 is 1125 080 1612 . Okay a tad different however the 036 shows a little gizmo that  is listed as part number 21 on the drawing which appears to go  under the rear of the cover .Maybe it tilts it back the other way or something .This thing is not listed on the 034 IPL .

Now that would make sense  if that's what the problem is .

After thought : I just flea bayed this damned thing and came up with more numbers .Good grief .

I got some guy wanting to trade in a 045 needing clutch etc,  on that 034/036 already :o .  I'm like let me go through it and check it out first, then compare it to my 60cc 3750, 62cc 362xp.

So anyone want to tell me about these stihl 045 models? I'm just taking it in the flip it later.

Took in a stihl 034 with what appears to be a MS360 rear handle tank section with flippy cap.

My question is do I need to find a 360 air filter cover or will the 034 air filter cover fit the 360 carb area. Reason i ask the 034 carb cover goes on crooked on the 360.

I cant find weight specs etc on the 034av 034 super 036 etc?

Also when did the 036 go to flippy caps?
the 034 is 56cc, 4.1 hp and 11.6lbs
the034super is 61.5cc
the 036 is61.5cc and rated at4.5hp and weighs 12.6lbs.
i dont know if the 036 ever had the flippy caps because i have a 036pro which was bought new in 1997 and it didn't have them. maybe they started them with the ms360 ???. the 045 is 75cc and is a big heavy saw. if your cutting fire wood with the 034/036 you will love it. if i was only allowed one saw it would be the 036. the 045's are still a good saw though.

So a 034 crankcase with oem 036 top end and MS360 rear handle section would be a pound less.  ???

Where's the difference in 034 and 036 to be a pound difference in PHO weights?

that doesn't make any sense to me either. i got the 036 specs from my owners manual and i would say that the 034 is closer to the same weight as the 036. if i knew how to post a link i would show where i got the other specs.
