Let me set the record straight on this saw .It was used by a tree service company as a ground saw .It died becuse the filter was worn to a frazzle, all the flocking gone and just the wire frame work left .Ate the intake side of the piston up. Pulled the aluminum badly .

I just about had the tramp aluminum all off the cylinder when I lost my patience and took a flap wheel to and cut through the nicolsol . Good old Wess from another site sent me an 036 cylinder and I put an aftermarket piston in it ,Meteor . The rear handle evidently had been replaced probably because it took a tumble from a tree or something .

It's light ,the average guy could run it all day and not get tuckered out .

So this is the one, I was wondering which one flapped a cylinder on.

I think it's going to make a great work saw. How it runs is what counts in the woods IMHO. The squirrels and deer are not going to give a rats behind  what it looks like or if I cant figure out why the covers are cockeyed.    ::)

Reading about MS360 rear handle tank section. Were they used with plastic handles with a different angle to tank maybe?

Used on late model (newer) models which have the plastic top handle Stihl  ms360

Well now the question remains ,is that a replacement handle for an 034 or 036  Is it rather a 360 ? I could not match those part numbers any place I looked on my IPL's .Although I failed to use the cross reference on superceded parts .They could be contained there .

Like I said though it sat dead straight with the 034 cylinder .I'm not sure if I have a pic with old cylinder ,I'll look .

I'm almost thinking the 036 cylinder must be just a tad higher than the 034 .I know I carved a little on that plastic top ,cussed ,carved until I got it on .It might have something to do with that little stud in the top of the cylinder .

Your tank ass is not straight. Everything should match up. The pics show that your angles are off. Between the tank and where the front case bolts to it is twisted.

If it is OK check your plug in the front av mount on the clutch side.

Thats what I was thinking was the tank section appeared off.  Will check it  someday hopefully soon.

Just got 3 more packages packed up to ship out.  Seems to be in three's here lately.  ;D

I got some guy wanting to trade in a 045 needing clutch etc. So anyone want to tell me about these stihl 045 models? I'm just taking it in the flip it later.

Also the 045, points or electronic?

they made both. and the flywheels have to match the coil to eletronic module or points. that series of saws[045/056] ignition confuses me.
