I have all three of these- the real weight as 036 12.25lbs, 361 12 lb 10 oz, 362 13lbs 3oz. I do think the 362 is a little stronger, the 361 and 362 are smoother, but the 036 just feels good in the hands.

Cool thanks for info. I owned  a 361 with MM and really liked it. Dont ever see owning a 362 with that kind of weight and cost though.  :o

Kevin I use a 044 clutch drum on the 036. That gives you a larger bearing. Just twist the oil pump drive up a bit to get it to engage in the 044 drum. It works very well.

I was wondering why stihl would use the tiny drum bearing on a 036. Same bearing used on the little 35cc-42cc green plastic poulans.

Thanks for info.

They have an upgrade for the 036. This issue was addressed on the ms360.....but the 044 drum is something most guys have in a box under the bench. :)
