Well she should be good to go when all the parts I ordered get here, $98 to my door. Anything iffy got replaced, want it to run like a new saw when done. Never know I might keep her because I always liked my 361 I let go.

I would have not realized this 036 was lighter then the 361 till nmurph posted the actual weights.   8)

Man I am impressed with Northwood Saw more and more, not only was the whole order 20 cheaper with them then B. I only ordered 2hrs ago and just got my confirmation  of packed and shipped out.  :o

I just added it to my favorites .They have those Torx head screws for about 1/3 the cost as a Stihl dealer gets .I think I'm going to order about 20 of each size .

Yes Sir fellers Northwood Saw is the best I've found on lots of stuff. I've been placing several orders a week with them. Their shipping is reasonable enough that I don't feel the need to wait and order everything at the end of the week or some crap. I'm hooked.

Good to see you fixing the 036 up right K. They are one of the best 60cc saws I've used.

I used to wait and build big orders like that too,  because it seemed 7.95 was the cheapest shipping offered by others even for a small gasket etc. Northwood I can order a gasket or something small that is needed and shipping is reasonable like you say a couple bucks at most.

Section E chain brake clutch section I seem to be missing part # 13 or 14 

13 1128 162 1001 1 Cover washer 58 mm / 2 5/16''
14 ✻ 1128 162 1000 1 Cover washer 43 mm / 1 3/4'' (31.2001), (10.2002)

Whats the purpose? Seems like it is between clutch and worm gear.

It's a protector plate for the oil pump and worm gear. There might have been a worm gear/ clutch drum update at one time with #14 having a *

FWIW that washer deal is similar to what an 038 uses only a different parts number .I think the idea is to try and prevent oil ladden saw dust from chewing up the crankcase seal . Why the two different sizes are listed I have no idea .Something likely changed some time during the run of production .

That may be true Al......but it also serves as a scatter shield of sorts in cause the clutch comes unglued....

 I don't know if they'd actually come apart but I shot one down the driveway once at about a hundred miles per hour .

Had the clutch off a Mac and like a dummy fired it back up without a bar  and chain .Kind of unscrewed itself when I left off the gas .I found it though .

Had the string gizmo come off a weed wacker once too .As far as I know it might be in Canada .Last I saw it was heading north at about 100 miles per hour .

Ha  after rebuilding 3rd 3750 I stepped outside the barn and fired  it up without clutch cover, bar or chain. Well duh I am in a habit of hand tighten the clutch when put back on and then a tap of the wrench. I usually chain up and go make cuts to secure clutch on ( in my we brain anyways). Clutch drum was on.
Well being  no clutch cover on and it idling I blipped the throttle  :o :o.  All I seen was grenade effect. I actually followed one shoe straight up and out like a rocket. It came down and stuck in the dirt straight up.  Center section was on it's own racing away.
I bribed my son to help me hunt for the other shoe and spring that went around shoes.  Lesson learned.

Just checked psi cold and hasnt run since little gtg sunday.  Only 8 single cuts on it so far, but I was curious on compression.  155psi

Ha a new set of rings on a used cylinder .Cuts okay but when it wears in it's like a super charger kicks in .
