015 AV Electronic worth fixing?
« on: October 29, 2017, 10:04:50 pm »
My dad bought one new, in about 1978. Cut a LOT of firewood with it.
It always impressed me, for its size.  Felled and bucked a lot of oak and hickory.
Anyway, he had to have the ignition module replaced under warranty (many years ago).
Now, it has no spark, again.
And, the clutch and bar sprockets are worn out (sharp teeth).
I realize the lack of spark could be the chip, or a wire, or a switch.

IIRC, the compression was low, also. Maybe rings. Maybe P&C.

My question is, is it worth repairing? We have no interest in selling it.
I just hate to see a good chainsaw go to waste.

If the lack of spark is because of the chip, where would I find another?
