Just comparing specs.  Hmmmmmmmmmm  Both new rebuilds with new rings too. 

stihl 046  76.5cc (4.67 cu.in) Bore: 52 mm (2.05 in
poulan 475  76.5cc 52mm bore

Noticed this 046 has a D combustion chamber. All 046 460 like that?

No they are not. I wondered the same thing, but I have two here now and the 046 has the d shaped combustion chamber and the 460 has a round one. Not sure if all 046's are D and all 460's are round but saying from what i have.

Just based off 044 cylinders, i always heard the D shaped ones ran better, so I was gonna use the D shaped one myself. This just makes mt mind up.

I just found that one on the net on a image search.  No clue who's.

Can someone confirm my thinking. Is a 066 660 chain catcher the same as 046 460?  I havent dug into IPL's yet. 

 Realize that is another part this saw was missing. Should have caught it when looking for a lower dawg bolt replacement.

Must be. My last one on hand from a 066 660.  Had to use another different bolt that was longer then the last one I found being the beginning threads are stripped out of the case.
