Stihl 056 magnum clutch seal
« on: April 28, 2015, 09:34:30 pm »
Hi, I just got one of these beasts and I haven't stripped it down yet but every search i do brings up the issue of non availability of this part. Has anyone found a source or replacement for them?

Is the clutch missing?  If you're in Need of springs or a bearing ypu should be able to find a suitable alternative from another model.

The bearing and seal on the clutch side are combined and stihl no longer carry them . They are also unique to this model unfortunately .

So I was doing some checking on this and what I found.

The early Stihl 056 and 056 super had the one piece seal and bearing.
The Stihl 056 magnum had a 2 piece seal and bearing.

The 1 piece part number 9523 003 0440.
The 2 piece set up for the bearing part 9523 003 4460
And the seal part number.   9640 003 2690

PP 505, 475, 445.

Scratch that.  Looks like it says unavailable?

When I restored my 056 super the pto side was separate bearing and seal, so perhaps it's after a certain S/N?   Or they can be interchanged?
