The top cover is plastic. Would that be original or replacement?
The 075 has more power than any stock 088 I ever had, can't wait to try the Contra.

that should be Oem, they built the super some years later after the normal contra , sometimes those supers are a prick to start cause they got so much compression , One thing thou is the saw has a over rev limiter on them, they have a flapper than get air off the flywheel and the higher the saw revs the more air the flywheel pushes against the flapper , once enough air is pushing on the flapper it pulls the choke part way on to slow the motor down on revs , I just took the spring that holds trys to hold the choke open and put another round of tension on it , no more choke coming on

The owner of another site once had an 090G that wouldn't rev up worth a hoot .I looked up as best I could about setting the gov speed and much to my surprise on both the 070 and 090 it gave directions to set it to 10,000 RPMS first hand .Then make the adjustments .I had no idea they'd run that fast .

The gent that had that big Stihl at Bills was interestd in bypassing the gov .I suggested he not .I think after Brad got it tuned in he was satisfied with it .These things are Clydesdales not jack rabbits .

Stihl and others made these heavy old pullers in another era of big wood and long bars and that's what they are best suited for .

OK I made a post a couple hours ago and its gone , the super pulls right at around 7000 to 7200 rpms with huge torque , You have to be carefull screaming the early contras as they had a 2 piece rod that does not like rpms and they will break
