Found out NWP is made by hyway but is a lesser quality  version of the hyway labeled kits

Good to know, thanks for sharing.

NWP products are a line of chainsaw related items marketed by the same company that owns Woodland Pro & Bailey's in California.

Their cylinder kits were usually made by the same company as the Hyway cylinders.

This Taiwanese cylinder company has made these for a few years and typically make continuous improvements.

I have read where some people say Mako brand is OEM supplier.  I can not find any info saying this. Of course the one saying it is a seller of mako products.  ;)

Info from Oz. http://www.jakmax.com.au/

When dealing with cylinder/piston replacement kits from the Far East, there has been a trend of inconsistency. The problem exists for the same brand and chainsaw from one year to the next. Some marketed offerings have no manufacturer's brand and are sourced from different places at different times.

Some manufacturer's product line varies from one fitment to the next. For example their Stihl 660 big bore could be terrible while the standard bore version would be the best of the aftermarket sources.

Some of the aftermarket companies listen to feed back and make improvements. But to buy a replacement kit from someone in the USA that ordered his supply several years ago may not be the same as a guy that just got his 1,000 kits in last week?

One thing is for sure . . . Inconsistency
