Cut you want the pics here or in the mako thread?

I moved all my BS to mako thread. That way your thread is not all messed up with my BS.

Seems a better fit in the mako thread to me. The info you posted is of merit in this thread as it may help some one looking to buy an aftermarket p and c kit for there 290-390.  There are a lot of chocies when it comes to aftermarket. To know ones that are good and ones that are bad would be very helpful.

Flattening the cylinder. Was not near as bad as the engine pan. But I am glad I went over it.

Tell us about the looks of the coating in the cylinder, how high the coating goes up in the cylinder?

How do the ports look compared to your old cylinder?

The coating looks good nice and smooth. The coating runs up as far as the the stock jug. I just eyeballed it. The port shape is very close to stock. It also appears the exhaust on the mako jug is larger than stock. But that maybe because it is a 310 jug compaired to a stock 290 jug

Sounds good.

The other test for these aftermarket cylinders and the main problem with your original Hyway choice was that the piston skirt hits the crank counter weights so you need to fit the piston on the rod and turn the crank around a little and observe the skirt clearance?

What are some thoughts on the clutch washer that is sandwiched between the oil driver and the clutch. Can you run with out it? Or does it help to divert the clutch heat away from the plastic pump driver.

You need the washer.

Not only does it keep dirt, sawdust, & oil out of the clutch, it also acts as a spacer.

The clutch bell will be sloppy back and forth without it.
