Stihl 362 C-M ported v/s Solo 665 stock
« on: August 17, 2014, 09:41:18 am »
Dex tested his woods ported 362 CM against his stock 665.

Quote from: DexterDay
I finally got around to testing the 665 and my Mastermind 362C-M today. After seeing Chvymn99 results,  I had to see for myself.  His 665 beat a ported 562xp.  Not by much. But by a little. :)
Both saws had new Stihl RS chains.. Brand new. Stihl had an 18" Sugi bar and 7 pin rim and Solo had 20" Forester bar and 7 pin rim.
The Cant has gotten considerably harder. I have a new 10" x 10" x 10' Cant that will be done soon. :)
The results? Well? See for yourself. I will post the times I got from watching the video with the stopwatch in a bit. :dex:
Steven, open that box up buddy!! These are something special! !

Dex times them from video.  Also stated 2.5 tanks through the 665  and 5-6 through the 362. So none are broken in. But the 362 is woods ported.

MS 362C-M
1- 6.8 sec
2- 6.1 sec
3- 6.2 sec

Solo 665
1- 6.2 sec
2- 5.7 sec
3- 5.5 sec

Awesome!!

The best thing about the 665 is it can be a 75cc, 79cc, 81cc or 85cc saw in a couple hours too... :)

Does the 665 fit into the 4 cube class?

Does the 665 fit into the 4 cube class?

IMO if measured it will be just a hair over legal.   I posted the cc some where. Let me look.

Finally found it.

Make sure legal with just being over the 4ci by a hair

665   =  65.955

4ci = 65.548   You know how some shows can be.

That 362 needs another 5-10 tanks through it to loosen up.

He said he would post the test again when both are broke in. Remember the 665 has only 2.5 tanks through it.  362 has 5-6 already.

He said the CM 362 was turning 14plus and the 665 13K out of the wood.  Wonder what rpm's were showing in the cut and guessing he ran 7T on both.
