We are finding about 20-25 tanks to get the most out of new Stihl saws. That said, it should be the same for the Solo also. Beating a 562 was no surprise, beating a ported 362 is. I had 2 ported 361s that I could cut firewood  with all day that would smoke that 665.

Not trying to stir anything up at all here but here is my observation.
I am not at all surprised that the 665 could be the fastest 65cc stock saw there is. But to beat a ported saw close to the same size makes me wonder......
I have ran a friends 681 and it is truly the fastest stock 5 cube saw there is IMO. It was faster than the jred 2186 I had at the time and faster than my stock dolmar 7900 I have now. But in no way is it faster than his ported 2171`s, my ported husqvarna 372 or my ported 7900.

Thats all I can see with a stock 681 chained against ported saws chained.

There were many other folks ported saws beat by the stock 681's Just didnt list them.  ;)

Did you ever have one of those days where everything you touched turned to chit? Perhaps it was one of those days for the builder when that saw was ported.

Did Romeo or Andy/redprospector win the build off way back when?

Romeo (shawn), me and Dean (Washington?).  Test wood was around 25"  with 28" bars.  All three saws were within a few tenths.  Think Romeo won by a margin.
