I thought Romeo did win. Last I heard he was full into dirt bikes for his kids

Can you imagine the dirt bikes those kids get to ride.   :o

That 362 needs another 5-10 tanks through it to loosen up.

I will be testing it again once more fuel is ran through both of them..

This isn't a bash on the 362C-M.  It is considerably stronger than it was before it left. It's more of an amazement at the power of the bone stock 665. No muff mod and I never touched the tune. It's idling right at 3K and tops at 13k.  ;D

He said he would post the test again when both are broke in. Remember the 665 has only 2.5 tanks through it.  362 has 5-6 already.

He said the CM 362 was turning 14plus and the 665 13K out of the wood.  Wonder what rpm's were showing in the cut and guessing he ran 7T on both.

Yes. 7T rims on both. The only difference was I ran an 18" on the Stihl and a 20" on the Solo. Both were brand new out of the box Stihl RS chains. I also ran a stock 562xp and a brand new Woodland Pro chain and it was running 9's.

Did you ever have one of those days where everything you touched turned to chit? Perhaps it was one of those days for the builder when that saw was ported.

As noted above, it runs great.. Much better than stock. I just think that the Solo is a better running saw. Some stock saws just run better than others. You can probably take 10 of these Solo's and run them all side by side and there will be a difference in the times. I like to think I just got a good one  8) 8)

And thanks for the thread Kevin. I have been working and going like gang busters for the last 3 weeks.

No problem Dex.  I'm just scared my little poulan wont handle the stroked 665 either. Even though I know the poulan would own a stock 562. Ported man oh man I just dont know.

Time will tell.

solo 665 has  47mm bore   x 38mm stroke

dolmar makita  47mm bore x 37mm stroke

husky 365 48mm bore x 36mm stroke

poulan 48mm bore  x 36mm stroke

husky 562 46mm bore x 36mm stroke  ? check me on these

stihl 362  47mm bore x 34mm stroke ?  check me on these

Dexter, has Dewey run his yet?

I think he has, but just a simple cut or two.  Member KG461 on our site has ran his quite extensively. And Randy said his was a modest port (was his first). Mine and Dewey's were done at the same time, so I would venture to believe they should be very close.

I almost want to put an 8 pin on the 362 and do it again? I think that the 8 pin and the extra RPM it has, will cut quicker, by not leaning on it as much and letting the shear chain speed win. I was pushing on them a fair amount. Trying to judge torque as well. The 665 would get a 8 pin as well.  Just so it was fair on all levels.

Also, next round will all be done with a 18" or 20" and the same chain. It was easier and faster to run different bars and chains that day. Labor day weekend will be my next day off (33 days straight).

But what if that 665 is the slow one of 10? :)

Round 2 by Dex.  $700+ 362CM plus 250/275 porting close to 1K against a stock $500 solo 655.

Dex = Came out about the same.. I ran more cuts with the Solo. Testing a harder "lean" on the saw and a lighter "lean". Round 2 of Solo 665 and Stihl MS 362C-M:

Dex timing

Stihl MS 362C-M
6.6
6.1
5.9

Solo
5.8
5.4
5.8
5.6
5.3
