« on: April 10, 2022, 11:59:52 pm »
How are you guys doing on getting new stihl bars , I got enough to last me a year or 2 sitting here but the dealers got pretty much zero in stock and Stihl sent out a email telling them zero bars until further notice and there are not many saws at the dealers either

I ask the guys in mu chainsaw repair group facebook for ya.  One guy said his dealer in Manitoba has a good stock of 24" and up on hand.

I'll keep ya posted.

Another Tried to get a light weight bar in the fall from my local dealer( in Canada) everything was out of stock. At the time I could get a 25 rollmatic but choices were slim, haven’t looked into it since

Seems it depends on dealers. Some stocked some not they are saying.  Guy is Aussie just bought a 36" and all
 in stock.

Just bought a new rollomatic with re-placeable tip x 20" for my 362.  Maybe this is what you guys are saying is the heavy duty one?   It was like $70 while the standard(not available and no idea when) was about $50.  I had no choice.
Later I found Runnings had both the standard bars in stock and the heavys.

He is talking about ES light bars.  Then ES is normal replaceable bar and E is laminated bar with NOT replaceable tip.

Have you tried the KU ( Quiri) bars from China? Don't scoff at them for being Chinese. My brother ordered a consignment a couple of years ago. Insisted on top quality not competative pricing. They sent him 18" bars same as the RSN bars, with the replaceable 3 rivet barnose same as Stihl, which can be used as replacement on Stihl OE RSN bars. What you may find hard to believe or accept is that these bars were on par if not better , very low groove wear   and bar tip wear. They had also sent some sample loops of their Maya chain. But the cutter profile was not too great. However once the cutters were filed to shape using a 5.2 ( 5.16 mm actually) round file they performed very well. Maybe not as same as a 36RS. But definitely better than a Carlton A3 or a Oregon  75LGX .
My pet theory is that the incorrect cutter profile might also be a catalyst for the chain stretching. The out of the box wide profile cutter ( a semi square profiled more for a 5.5mm file) stretched faster than the one that was first reshaped using a 5.2 mm file.
The KU bar noses unlike the Stihl  ones have the greasing points on either side.
One thing my brother insisted upon was the bars having no brand name on them, so as to not to mislead customers. And the manufacturer actually was happy that we didn't want Stihl to be printed on them . There was very little negative feedback on these bars and bar noses. And, for the quality the prices were extremely competitive. One lesson we learned was that they can give top quality if you don't mind a higher price.

No I have not nor have I ever heard of those , one bar I have been running is the oregon  versa-cut on the landing saws , they seem pretty good and do not wear the rails out as fast as other bars , this sand is brutal on bars used for bucking trees up
