stihl ms 180c recoil help

Could someone please help me get my recoil assembly back together? I cannot figure out how the retaining clip goes to hold the 2 plastic tabs. here is what it lookes like now.
It wont let the tabs engage when I pull the rope and I have tried for hours on this thing >:(

The spring needs to be turned over the other way. It is in there upside down?
