As MCW says about the new Husky air filters , I found my 562XP filter is not the quality that the 441 has as I have lately seen.
The 562 filter is the same design as my old 272XP, only difference is the top is mesh also where the 272's top is solid plastic.
The air injection on the 562 doesn't appear to be any where as efficient as the older Huskys' like my 372, the 562 filter gets dirty fast.

But having said all that, in 40 years I have never run a saw before that runs as good as this 562XP.

The current Husky filters certainly can be an issue. I've had to run filter oil on all of my Huskys to stop finer dust getting through. It really shouldn't be that hard for Husqvarna. In a couple of hours I removed the felt inner on one of my 390XP filters and epoxied the paper element from a Dolmar HD filter into it. It is a 10 times better filter now and not one spot of dust has got through the Husky's filter since with NO oil. All filter oil does is block filters up 5 times faster  :(

Some stihl ms241 info for you Art.  Info on US delivery of 241.

Quote from: indiansprings
finally got a solid answer on the arrival window in our area for the MS 661 and MS 241 CM's. As soon as the 200 or so remaining 660's get ordered out of the warehouse the 661's will be available in our area, their thinking about the first of December possibly sooner.  It's getting harder to sell the 660 for those that know the saw is coming.
I was a little disappointed that they are Stihl running behind on the MS241CM's, I guess the demand in other countries has pushed the delivery in our area to somewhere in the March/April window.  I'm going to set it up with 1/4" chain and have fun.

Art Brad did a nice write up. Just posting the stock saw stuff.

What a fine little saw this is.  The design is a cross between a 261C and a 461.  The quad transfers are all fed from the front of the cylinder, just like the 461 and 661.  The rest of the saw is basically 261C.  Quality is very nice.  I was disappointed to see several self tapping screws, such as those holding the intake manifold to the cylinder and the coil to cylinder bolts.  Not a big deal though.
Compression 155
Squish .025"
I'll have another one of these shortly for a side-by-side comparison.  I'm looking for a test log, but wanted to get going on this thing tonight.
Before measuring port timing, I first cut a .020" popup on the piston and set the squish to .020".  The crown was not thick enough for a taller popup.
Before porting
Exhaust - 110°
Transfers - 123° (angled significantly)
Intake - 71°
After porting
Exhaust - 107°
Transfers - 123° (flat)
Intake - 77°
The exhaust was widened significantly to 70% of the bore.
The intake was widened slightly, limited by the narrow skirt found on most strato saws.
The transfers are angled significantly from the factory.  I made them flat and slightly widened them.  This significantly increases the time and area.
The strato ports were widened slightly.
A large lip at the entrance to the transfer intake duct was removed.
I opened the original exhaust opening on the muffler as much as could be covered by the deflector.  I added a second port, using the gills I have on most 261s that I've done.
I removed the baffles from the filter adapter.
It idles perfectly, hits WOT instantly, and returns to idle fast.  The saw feels like a little monster.  I can't wait to cut with it.
I HOPE TO MAKE A VIDEO TOMORROW!!!
Plastic bar cover.
New style plugs.  I like them.

Nice looking saw. I noticed the 6 T 3/8" Picco spur drum, this model should rip real quick with the Picco 63PS chisel chain. I wonder if Stihl will ever introduce a 7T Picco mini 7 spline rim sprocket drum set up.

From the 241 pics and playing with a 251 I find the handles closer together than I like. Will it stop me from buying a 241? No.

The only thing I see that i don't care for is the throttle rod. Looks to be similar to the 362, have seen with time they where out and if you flip the saw over it will fall out of the holder on the side of the intake manifold and you will lose throttle operation other than that looks like a good saw. Are the handles more compact than a 261. If they are it will make a great saw for the arborist guys out there. That's one reason I have a 346 and a 2152 for there compact size and power.  Would like to have a stihl again as my climbing saw for the 250 just does come close to the 346, hope this will help bridge the gap between the 250 and 261 for power and compact size.
FEAR NO TREE. FEAR GOD.
