280 is back together and running good. This is not the intelli carb version. It has an adjustable carb.

it just makes you wonder if the bar got pinched and the mounts got stretched to the extreme. End result torn boot.

I would guess yes on some.  That is the thing about the poulan and stihl I dislike on how their intake boots go through rear handles.
Do like the newer huskys we are used to on that design better.
