Stihl MS290

I need a (good used) fuel tank assembly for my MS290.
My son dropped one of my saws , when it fell, the saw hit the edge of the trailer.
Busted a hole in the fuel tank about the size of a dime. :'(
I see a few replacement ones on ebay but, I thought I would ask here too.

Can you patch the hole?  Tank on those is fuel, oil and the plastic engine cradle all in one.

No, I don't think it can be patched or repaired in any way.
The hole in the tank is pretty big, and I don't have the piece of plastic that fits back into the hole.
I know the part I need has everything made together but, I thought I might get lucky, and someone have a old parts saw lying around with that good part on it.
You just don't know till you ask !    LOL !

Might try giving Scott at chainsawr a call. They show that they are out of stock for the part, but he may have one if you call, website is not always accurate.

Yeah, I bought 1/2 of a pallet of ms290s last year for sale after the saw was discontinued, I haven't listed many of the parts yet, so their value would hopefully go up.  Unfortunately, the market is flooded with a bunch of Chinese junk.  But I sell stuff on E-bay for a living. 

The best bet would be to stop by a few local dealers and buy a good burned up ms290.

Thanks to your parts , I got my saw back going today .
Was a pleasure dealing with you.
Now  , I just need to find more time to get on that old Mac , I bought from you last fall.
