I'm looking forward to seeing the 461 on my bench under the knife. :)

Those saws weren't MS461's, but test beds for some new parts.

They were testing out the air filtration system but the rest of it was all MS460.

If Stihl is going to sink 100's of millions of dollars into a new model they do a complete ground up new
model, and not an upgrade of an existing platform.

Cale the cylinder has the decomp mounted over towards the side. Is that the cylinder design they're going to use on the 461? I hope it is spring av like the 441. I might be able to run it for more than a few minutes without my hands going numb.

No!
The MS461 does have a 2mix engine but it is not like the one in the video. No twin butterly valves or MTronic ignition.
Unlike the others with fresh air stratified charge  the 461 has the it  off the exhaust gases.
The new ignition module has a speed limiter to keep rpm within 13500.
The new carb is very similar to  the one in the460  except for the different jet sizes and a dual lever for the choke.
It is very much like a 460, but with quite a lot of differences.

I would like to see inside the cylinder to see how it is built , I know I'm different but I like the single carb setup better than the duel butterfly setup , just less stuff the wear out down the road plus it makes getting fuel into the stratos ,
