My first post on this topic was for the removal of the permanent marker. However when I "detail" a saw after repair, I use a product called "Awesome" which is a degreaser like Purple Power. I apply it full strength with a spray bottle and I will not allow it to dry on the plastic! Then rinsed off with the garden hose. The hard to reach areas I use a soft detail brush dipped into the Awesome. When the rinse water has dried, I apply automotive wax and buff to a shine. If the plastic has UV damage, I have found nothing that will bring back the luster it had when new. Hopefully someone has and will share their findings.
