Lord, don't split the tanks, just take a flat screwdriver and lightly pry up on that old grommet and pull it out.  That
big split in the fuel line is the main trouble, but you will have to clean all of the crap out of the carb and put a fresh kit in it too.

Like Fish said, removing the front of the saw to 'split the tanks' is problematic. If it is not leaking between the tanks or out of the saw try not to split the tanks.
