Looking to buy an air hammer. Have been looking at the IR 118. What do you guys use? Also what is better a short or long barrel? Is the 118 any good?

The little ones are slick as snot on a door knob .You can cut bolts, drive out rivets ,use a panel cuter and do body work .Cut the top out of a 50 gallon drum, clean morter off bricks .I think I have three, auctions you know.

IR is a good brand.  I bought a cheap one, probably Harbor Freight and while the air hammer/chisel works fine, the tool are too soft to be really useful.

Check out the availability of tools for the 118 to make sure you are not limited to OEM, or if OEM is the only option make sure they have a good selection at reasonable prices.
