Crankcase Splitting Tool (homemade)

Homemade today,here are some pictures.   ( slightly different than the hv tool)





6mm plate , goes easily with a high quality jigsaw blade , ( slow rpm's + cutting oil)


A few minutes later  :) ( die grinder , carbide burrs , stones, flap discs,angle grinder)

Great job! You might want to weld a piece of square section tubing to the bottom. Then you can clamp it in your bench vice and use it the opposite way around. That way with the saw upside down you have the rod already between the ears and no worries about messing up the rod or small end.

And is the case pictured a 61?

Yes.  I also had a plasma cutter, but it broke. It would have been handy
Are you going to make a couple more to sell?
