I have an actual hammer used to put set in a sawmill blade .Really a type of convexness  they put in the blade so compensate for RPM's etc .I have no idea how it's done though .One of those auction deals,a box full of junk for a couple bucks .

The convexness gives the disk radial strength and keeps it from wobbling.

When the tool used to accomplish a complex task is a simple variation of a hammer, the ability to use it to complete the task is all in the mind and hands of the craftsman!

Never enough.....

I have no idea, but I always have to look for one also!  Just like a freakin' tape measure!!!!

Yes, I believe tape measures are nocturnal creatures that run around at night and hide during the day.

I have a lot of hammers.

If I saw a good hammer with a bad handle at the flea market and I could get it for a couple bucks, I would buy it and put a new handle in it.

Absolutely! A few of mine were cast-offs that just needed a little TLC.

Well I suppose a good craftsman could drive a carpet tack with a 10 pound sledge .Which in all reality would be easier than driving a railroad spike with a tack hammer .

You ever tried to swing a spike hammer on a railroad spike .With me it's one hit in ten swings .Good thing I was never a gandy dancer,I'd have been fired before lunch time .
