I originally made most of my slides .Then a tool and die maker friend of mine made me some using Aloris slides as a pattern ,those didn't fit .Problem was he made them out of heat treated 4140 steel .He had to use surface grinder to repair them but they eventually did work .

Now this guy was pretty good ,Fact he made some wedge type tool posts .So I know if it was a copy of Aloris he as dead on with the size .

I bought some slides which were not Aloris such as knurling wheel slides that did fit but they were not Aloris .

On mine you can adjust the gimbles a little bit so if the slide isn't dead on it will still work .I have no idea what brand it is .

AXA and BXA holder are really close in size (~0.040" in width of the dovetail) but not interchangeable, the CXA size is much larger than the BXA and it easily recognizable.

looking at tool posts.  axa size.

anyone have experience with aloris clones?

I've had good luck with Alloris/Dorian BXA or series 200 PhaseII/Import holders.  I haven't had an import one yet that hasn't fit on my old import wedge style holder or my new Dorian Super Quick Change toolpost.

For size AXA it will be the 100 series import holders.  I too would also choose a wedge over a piston since they are much more accurate for drop in repeatability.

I really like the quality of the import holders I've got from AllIndustrialToolSupply on ebay.  They also are the only place I've been able to find an import #1 and #2 XL holders which allow for larger tooling.  For size AXA they will allow you to use 5/8" tooling instead of 1/2".  BXA is 3/4" instead of 5/8".
