« on: March 19, 2011, 09:08:15 am »
I tinker,it's just my nature .Some of the many stuff I've came up with .

Stihl clutch pullers made from M22 1.5 hydraulic fittings .Piston holder made from scrap nylon .Piston pin circlip installers for both 10 mm pins and one for those dinky 8 mm for a Stihl 200T that are so tiny once they get away from you they are seldom seen again .

This doesn't have a thing to do with chainsaws .It's a power seam roller for forming standing seam roofing .The cover is off to show the triple chain reduction .

Al, I'll purchase a set from you if you have extras made up.  I've lost a few 10mm myself.

I'll make up a bunch once I get the Monarch lathe back up and running .

The damned thing is a thyratron  rectified  DC drive which is acting up a tad bit .They aren't the easiest thing to figure out but I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is .

Ha Ha .allright ,already .I'll make a bunch of them .

It doesn't take long .These were not some idea I hatched on my own but rather something I copied from work .They occasionally use "hand piners" for certain applications for the circlics for repinning pistons .

The difference is the larger pinners used for car engines have a slide inside which pops the clip in .The problem using that design on a 10 MM is the slide would be so tiny it would be like making a part for a watch .

Some day when I feel motivated I'll come up with a clip removal tool .For the moment a bent ice pick gets that job done .Crude but effective . ;D

This is from an old Remington service bulletin.
Thought it might be a good patern for a tool if you need one.
Little slot on end removes clips very nicely. Good idea to cover with a rag after engaging tool before prying clip out though. Unless you like looking for part where ever they may go.
