I have a skinny one = Foredom #8 doesn't get real hot.  It does get warm if running wide open.  I like it better than my # 30.

My Foredom #8's gets hot enough to burn you after a while.  I ran my AM #8 style one last night for 10 minutes full throttle and it only got slightly above room temp.

I will sell a few styles of handpieces for anyone who's interested while my supplies last.

Style 1: AM #30 handpieces shown on the right of my first picture above.  They have been reworked internally such that they don't get hot like most AM ones.  $17 + shipping.
Style 2: AM sorta #8 handpiece shown on the left of the second picture.  Comes with 3 collets and wrench.  $26 + shipping.
