What would be a good starter kit on these pieces? A straight shaft, and an angled piece for doing transfers? What would you recommend for a motor, and if AM what adapters or w/e that it would need. Sorry if you mentioned this stuff, just thought I would ask directly, I don't really know much about this foredom stuff. Havent done any real upper transfer work, and lowers mostly blending and port widening.

If I was going to buy a new motor I'd probably buy a mastercarver motor, but if you want to go cheap I'd find a used Foredom SR motor on eBay.  I find the reverse feature necessary but others get by without it.

A Foredom #30 handpiece is a nice all around handpiece but it doesn't get into tight places and it only chucks up to 5/32".  Mastercarver makes a chuck style handpiece they call the "stealth" that can chuck up to 1/4" and it's only 0.2" thicker.  The Foredom #44 is a collet style that can do 1/4" and smaller if you have the collets.  The Foredom #28 is a slim collet style that chucks 1/8" and smaller, it works well be still can't get into the tightest spots where the Foredom #8 shines.

Right angle handpieces are expensive.  The only one I and most everyone else have found to hold up is the CC Specialites 182MC, but it will run you $300 for the head and the adapter.

Thank you for the input. I will get to looking around... I didn't realize the right angle hand pieces were so pricey.
