Are you referring to 2 or 4 cycle carbs when you say B12 will melt the check valves? Never heard using brake cleaner or pine sol in a ultrasonic cleaner.  I have the heated HF ultrasonic cleaner and I use the design technology solution with it. I use more carb cleaner spray on 4 cycle carbs more than anything.
I am referring to small 2 cycle carbs. 

The small 2 cycle carbs use different types of check valves to control where barometric pressure can reach.  Main jet (power circuit) nozzles can contain a rubber check valve which will melt in the presence of these caustic cleaners.  Some guys will only use WD-40 nowadays.

NON- CHLORINATED brake clean ;)
if you can't see it clearly stating that it's NON-CHLORINATED on the label. it probably isn't and should be left on the shelf.
when ever brake cleaner is mentioned, I have to stress it's NON-CHLORINATED :) I can't count how many people I've talked to that's ruined something with the chlorinated stuff.
Agreed, I should have mentioned this.  The chlorinated brake clean can cause phosgene gas.  Pretty wicked stuff.

 I use gum cutter as a cleaning spray for my carb work. Works very well, and have not found it to melt any thing yet.

 :) I use some generic brand gum remover form work when ever it comes in (swish brand). the rep told me to use the CARPET SAFE labeled stuff ;D
if it doesn't say CARPET SAFE clearly on the label, it probably isn't :D
don't want to turn that shag into a bur bur :)
