I can't seem to find anything useful on line about what pistons they produce. Can't even find a US distributor.

Thanks Jim I corrected the spelling error.

Interesting read on pistons.

MAHLE Takes Over Majority of Engine Components Manufacturer Mopisan in Turkey

Stuttgart, Germany, January 22, 2008—The MAHLE Group, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, announced today that MAHLE GmbH took over the majority of shares of 60 percent of the Turkish engine components manufacturer Mopisan.

Mopisan has two production plants in Turkey in Konya and Izmir where they produce mainly pistons and cylinder components for the independent aftermarket. In the future, these plants shall handle particularly the production of engine components for the spare parts market.

For over 50 years, Mopisan has been producing engine components for gasoline and diesel engines and supplies engine manufacturers, vehicle spare parts traders and maintenance shops in more than 70 countries. Last year, more than 1.5 million pistons were produced. In 2007, the company employed 580 employees and generated sales of approximately EUR 24 million.

With the acquisition of the majority of Mopisan, MAHLE complements its flexible small-series production capacities for pistons, piston pins and cylinder liners. The company, which will from now on be named MAHLE Mopisan Izmir A.S. and MAHLE Mopisan Konya A.S., will therefore become an important contributor to MAHLE’s growth strategy in the independent aftermarket for engine components.

Prof. Dr. Heinz K. Junker, Chairman of MAHLE Group Management Board and CEO, states, "The independent aftermarket is a strategically important growth market for MAHLE. MAHLE Mopisan will perfectly complement our existing engine parts business segment for this market. The two plants in Turkey are producing already today OE quality in connection with flexible production structures for small series quantities. This is particularly important in this business segment in order to serve our customers faster, more flexibly and in a timely manner. Our existing plants are mostly targeted to large series volumes and sometimes lack the flexibility which is needed for the independent aftermarket. With MAHLE Mopisan we have the perfect supplement to one of the core businesses of the MAHLE Group."

The MAHLE Group is one of the 30 largest automotive suppliers worldwide. As the leading manufacturer of components and systems for the internal combustion engine and its peripherals, MAHLE is among the top 3 systems suppliers for piston systems, cylinder components, valve train systems, air management systems, and liquid management systems. With more than 40,000 employees in 110 production plants and seven research and development centers, MAHLE expects sales of approximately EUR 5 billion (USD 7.5 billion) in 2007.

That's why we can not find anything exclusively Episan? They were bought out by Mahle in 2008.

The www.episan.com is some far Eastern (junk) marketing site. - Not of interest to us.

I don't think Mopisan and Episan are the same entity.
Mopisan is a huge industrial piston supplier (15million yr) and Episan is a much smaller lawn/garden and smal m/c engine piston mfg.  The companies are 100 miles apart
