Dolmar 143 bars
« on: August 16, 2013, 07:39:38 pm »
Recently aquired 4 143 power heads but only 1 with a bar/chain and only a 20"! :( would like to find a 36" but am interested in anything longer than 24".  I might be offering up a couple of them to sell once I get them going as well

D033 bar mount it shows. http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf/BMP/19?OpenDocument

Which is same bar mount on the 166's I ran. I just used large stihl mounts. Like on 084 088 880 075 076 etc.

I was told that the oilier wholes don't line up on the large mount stihl bars. Do you know CFF?

On my 166 most of the oiler holes lined up on the bars with bar mount oiler area. Some if off I would just match hole size and drill another oiler hole.  1 min job

Thinking about it I know I ran a stihl bar on a 084 and 166 switching back and forth.

That's great news cause, it is a lot easier to find long large mount stihl bars than long Dolmar Bars. I got luky and mine came with a 36" Windsor in great shape, but I would like a 48" or 50" just to have  ;D

I recently picked up a 36" bar/chain but medium mount stihl.....has enough material to be machined out to fit.....should I have it ground out or should I wait for a proper bar? Got it cheap but its labeled made in germany & is to tough of material for my bits.....machine shop should be able to do it...opinions?

Here's a idea for you. I knew a guy that turned down the shoulders on the 2 bar studs on a stihl 088 to run the 066 mount bars.
I had a dolmar 166 done the same way to run large mount husky bars too.
Saves a little work.

Didn't catch that last post until this morning and that is a great idea! I have already removed the studs and I will machine the shoulders down in the morning. ....the chain tensioner is still to large of a pin but I will hit the bone pile for something that may work.... Thanks again!
