Dolmar 7900\6400 parts
« on: May 26, 2014, 12:27:17 pm »
I'm in need of clutch, clutch drum, clutch cover, handle bar and cylinder cover(black). I would like to find them used if I can. I can buy them new but its a bit pricey. Used 7900 parts are hard to find anymore.

I have a clutch cover without the outer dog used and a filter cover in black. It is the standard cover setup that was removed from a new 7300 saw and replaced with the HD setup.

I have two of the filter covers. I need the black cylinder cover. How much do you want for the clutch cover?

Don't forget that the red tops had a black coil.

The later model rpm limited maroon coil makes more power for it is advancing. It is limited around 13,500.

The flywheels are different between the black and the maroon coils

Only unlimited coil I know of for these from OEM was in the model RS  7900.  They were not sold in US that I know of.

Same here Kevin. The ported 7900 I have has a 272 husky unlimited coil. Same flywheel just timed differently. I have both coils and I thought they were both limited coils. I have the black one on this basket case 7900 I'm working on and maybe I should use the maroon one instead.

Ron, this is from the red top thread.

the black top had a different flywheel and coil setup compared to the red , the black top had a touch more power because the ignition timing was advanced a touch more than the red top

The black hood (Red Coil) 2005+ models are a little stronger and nicer running than the older Orange hood (Black Coil) 2001-2004 models.

Now the 7910 is a different setup yet. We have a customers that like the 7910 much better than the 7900 as well.
