Echo CS 315 Clutch Cover Needed
« on: December 30, 2012, 05:48:59 pm »
I am in need of the early "one-hole" clutch cover, which Echo and everybody else claims was changed to the more familiar two-hole configuration with S/N 0058000. (WRONG. My saw is S/N 0058849, but whatever...) I need the part that looks like this:

I have talked to a guy on Arboristsite who can actually fab one from scratch, but I'm hopeful I can find the original part. And yeah, I know, the two-hole covers are all over the place on FeePay, but they won't work on my saw.

would a 2 hole work if somebody was to weld it up and redrill it for 1 hole? or is there to much of a difference?

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work. Echo actually retooled that side of the case when they decided to switch from one stud to two. That is, they didn't just add another stud to complement the one, they removed the one stud and installed two new ones in different locations fore and aft. I guess it might be possible to drill a third hole in a two-holer, halfway between the factory holes... maybe.

There used to be a guy on arboristsite.com who would custom fab such things pretty cheap, but I haven't been able to contact him. A one-holer sold on Feebay about a month ago, but I haven't seen one since, and I check every day. Guess I'll keep checking, huh?  ;D
