Looking to either find a 19/31 ID "Spur" sprocket in .404 with 8 pins. OR a better B&C combo in 1/2 inch. I have 1/2 inch loops 74 and 87 links.

A similar inquiry was asked on another forum with a different user name .My suggestion is going with the .404 because of lack of 1/2" chain .However if you have the chain it's not that hard to adjust the driver count and if you have a chain punch you might be able to use the tie straps over if they punch out cjean .About any hard nosed McCulloch .063 bar for large framed saws should work on the gear drive .
As I said on another forum,Bryce out in Marysville Washington  occasionally sells .404 spurs on flea bay .I have his phone number .

No a 10 series bar only fits on a 10 series saw .Now some Husqvarna mounts will fit ,depends on who made them .

There's another thing about older McCulloch hard nose bars and actually about any of them,10 series included .For reasons unknown to me these thing could come in about every gauge known, from .050 to .063 .I was given a 32" 10 series with a .404 sprocket nose in .050 gauge .I didn't even know they made .404 in .050 until then .I changed the nose to 3/8"
The 48" McCulloch hard nose on that saw in my avatar is in .058 .I had a time even finding .404 in that gauge .I can't imagine it but I've learned they made 1/2" in .050 and .058 .
I might mention that avatar saw also has a Stihl mount,066 size ,36" .404 I adapted using spacers .Not all Stihl mounts would work because the tail section is too narrow .Adapting bars can be a chore at times but it can be done with a little luck .
