Thanks guys. You can really see the difference in the mag alloy when you're welding it. That old Homelite welded so clean, hardly a porous spot in it when finished off. Right before that I was welding on a Stihl 046 case that just kept blowing black soot everywhere and it was nothing but holes when I sanded it off. I had to weld the Stihl case twice to get the finished surface to look nice.
