12" picco stihl 026
« on: December 18, 2015, 12:48:15 pm »
Any ideas on a 12" 44dl 45dl bar for a 026?  No such animal as I can find.  Thinking of using a old bar and make my own.

Found a 12" picco bar that will work on a 026 mount when modified. Just need to open the slot, elongate bar tensioner hole and oiler hole.  8)

Kev, I did the same for an 026. Take care not to delaminate the bar when grinding the heel and slot.   Those plastic inserts at the oil hole tends to melt with grinding heat.

Thanks for the heads up.

I have tossed some good laminated bars in past trying to do stuff with them in past.  Had a few that worked out great too.

Cut I have a 12" Picco bar you can use if you mess up the one you have, when you modify it to fit the 026. That seems to be a good bit of work to make it fit just looked at the 026 I have with that bar. Oil hole, tensioner hole and stud slot. Would you like me to try and mod mine. I got the bars from a dealer for like $10 bucks a piece. They just wanted them gone.

You have a 12" picco 050 44dl extra to do this to?    If so yes.  I may need to drill one extra bar tensioner hole to use the 45dl chain too.

Let me know and Thanks.

I have to do all my stuff by hand mostly, you?  Using File, drill, grinder, dremel etc.

Yes on the bar and yes on the by hand. I will have some time over the next couple of days to do it. It is a wet sloppy mess here.
