There is a lot of good info there - but be aware there are some inaccuracies, as they assume that 3/8" chain has a .375 pitch. It isn't, the pitch is more like .366.

It must be close to .375 because when I take my dial calipers and measure from center to center every third rivet and divide by two it is always close to .375.

Only thing I have noticed 3/8LP to 3/8 is the drive link on 3/8LP being smaller aka shorter. Length about dang same and drive link count per reel roll the same.

I was told and read the reason for 3/8LP being called .365 was to differentiate it from full 3/8 .375 so not to confuse people.

Both 'regular' 3/8 and LP are the same pitch (same distance between rivet centers).  The tie straps and drivers on LP are shorter than on 'regular' 3/8" pitch.  That means that an LP sprocket must have a larger diameter than a 'regular' 3/8" pitch sprocket of the same tooth/pin count (both at the powerhead and at the bar tip).

Seems as though 6 tooth spur is rather popular on 3/8ths LP whereas 7 tooth is most popular on regular 3/8ths

I am thinking the 6 is because most saws that use 3/8LP are small cc not much torque.
