Thanks oldtimer, I'm still learning about sawchain ha ha.
It was just a couple of years ago that I learned chisel sawchain has been around for over 60 years, for some reason I always had it in my head that chisel was introduced in the 1960s.
Myself being interested in timbersport competitions I always have a fascination to make that chain cut faster, just like the auto industry they can't have proper research and development without auto sport competition.
I remember reading of one veteran of chainsaw racing Sven Johnson . With his wealth of knowledge he worked alongside Ray Carlton's sawchain company, doing some research and development for them.
I myself don't have near the knowledge Sven has or experience in timbersports, I have always lived in one of the most isolated parts of North America, travelling to top competitions was just too expensive and time consuming. Plus we didn't have the internet back then either
