whats the purpose of square ground chain?  and how about skip and semi skip?

It cuts smoother and faster than round filed. Can be used for all cutting. It won't last in dirty wood like semi chisel. The semi skip and full skip give more room for chip clearance with long bars.

Sharp square ground chain slices through wood like a hot knife through butter.

Skip & semi skip allow under-powered chainsaws to keep their RPM's up in big wood.  They also have chip clearance advantages.
