Did not have much time to finish the Twin's pipes, but today did some works around the defuser part for final welding.

Gave it a pressure test, had some bad seams from which a little amount of air came out. After covering welding no air leakage from the seams so far.

This saw I got for free for fixing the Stihl 090.   This is a Jonsered 801 and is 80cc.   I was told it had no spark when given to me.   I found the kill switch was bad and shorting to ground all the time.   It wreaked of bad fuel and the carburetor is going to have to be rebuilt on it.   It has a tillotson.
I did prime it through the carb and it fired so I think it will be a good runner.   I need to get a different bar and chain for it.

thay's a great catch for repair work :o :o

i have the 80 in mine collection

Had a regular show up with 272 353 about 330. We drink tall boys while I worked and shot the **** for 2hrs.  272 he said him and his 28 year old son couldnt get started. Tried for hour.
Everything checked out coil wise using that new newfangled spark analyzer. Dumped fuel and all looked good tank to carb. I know carb kits is new. Pulled plug not flooded and is new too. Checked psi etc.  Couldnt see nothing to stop it from starting.
Put on ground, set fast idle, set choke 2nd pull it popped.  I smiled at owner. He said we couldnt even get a pop. Turned off choke fired her up. Big smile and he was embarrassed.  Saw checked out running too.

353 he said bar was flopping around when he was cutting and noticed he lost both bar nuts (but found 1) stop cutting. Said he though bar bent. It all checked out.
Put bar chain back on gave a extra nut in bag to carry with his stuff. Test cut with all fine.

2hrs later lot of laughing and drinking brew = priceless

When he ask me cost for my time and nuts. = Told him no charge for my time. Told him we will make it up someday on real work.

I just enjoyed starting the saw for him and if he needs me to show up to the woods to start his saw let me know. ;)

PS: he did bring the tall boys. I told him from now on while 12 dogs of Christmas is being sold to bring that with him instead of that cheap beer from now on. ;)

PSS: remember those 325 chain build off work chains I did for fun. This guy ended up with them. He said I dont know what you did to those chains but I want you to keep doing it.  ;D

It isn't on the bench yet but I have Partner P100 super in transit .I bought it as a parts saw missing some parts, which I also have enroute .Says it's hung which could be anything not necessarily a hung piston .

You never never know when you buy a pig in a poke, might work out or just be parts .Worst case is a piston and cylinder which isn't that much .
