Alpina

Hello could anybody shed light on a new Alpina white c46 45cc motor chainsaw I have purchased off the net new. Although the company was founded in Italy it has expanded to outsourcing it's saw manufacture to China. Saw was cheap and will be mainly used to keep wood burner going with mostly wood already down. I have had good saws in UK, but now live in Turkey and retired did not want to spend good cash for a saw stood up a lot, and as listed as home pro saw and coming with good spec and original pedigree company it might be ok.  I wondered if someone has knowledge of reliability as these, as they look as though they could be new on market and these brands change often. Thanks for any help on this machine.

These look to be the typical Chinese clones of older Zenoah designs that are sold in an almost uncountable number of variations of colors, names and plastic covers shapes.  The 38 and 41cc versions are based on the G3800 (like my Earthquake), and the 45 and 50cc are based on the G5000.

They are at least based on good designs, although the assembly quality can vary a lot.
