Chainsaw Repair

Hey guys, been working on some chainsaws for my father in law that have been sitting for many many years. Main one he wants fixed up is this Remington PL5A. 

I got it cleaned up and ordered some missing parts for it, cleaned out the gas tank. I got it running decent, except it was hard to start which is why he set it on the shelf years ago. So I ordered a carb kit for it, cleaned the carb and installed the new kit.  Now it's still hard to start, and hard to keep running. It will pop once after about 10 pulls with the choke on, then when I push the choke off it will run and I can rev it but it's sluggish and will die when you're giving it full throttle.  I can feather the throttle and keep it running around idle.  the fuel line is pretty mushy and was debating replacing it but looks like it requires disassembly pretty far and is one of those molded lines.  What do you guys think?

Yes you need to replace that fuel line.   If it is sucking air at all through that fuel line it will starve for gas and will make it very difficult to start.   Also try adjusting the high and low needle jets on the carb.   Low for when it is at idle and high for wide open throttle.   CCW will richen the fuel mixture on the jets.
