So what is the difference in the Echo 590 600 620 ?  Are they all the Shindaiwa designed saws?

Yes it's a Shin based design. Very little difference between the saws. The 590 and 600 appear to have the same top ends. The differences are the handles, plastic on the 590 aluminum on the 600. Rim sprocket on the 600, spur on the 590. The 600 has an Oregon power match bar, the 590 has a laminated bar. The difference in power may come down to the coils, as they have a different part number.  The 600 may have a more aggressive advance to it, but the flywheels are the same.
