Echo 370 Engine Seizes
« on: April 15, 2015, 12:38:27 pm »
I have an Echo CS270.   I've never really had any problems with it until recently. I ran it out of gas the other day. After that, it operated fine for awhile, but then it would die like it was starving for fuel.  This happened several times, and then when I tried to start it, the engine felt like it was seized. Went out the next day and it was still seized. I tried it yesterday, and now it was cranking, but didn't get it to start.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like my neighbor's that he straight gassed?  Anyway, when they get low on compression, they can act like they are not getting enough gas or flutter every time you pull on it but never start and run.

Oops, I was mistaken.   It's a CS370.   And I cannot see any scoring on the piston when I take the motor off.

Thanks......seems like it was vapor locked or something. If it cranks fine now , I don't see how the engine can be damaged. Although I did pull the spark plug and that didn't free it up. But 2 days later the engine turns over.
