You're right.  The 345 has 3/8 LP.  It's a good little limb saw.  The chain has a narrower cut and it can slice through small limbs pretty quick.  I only wish it had a 14 inch bar, not 16.  That extra just gets in the way when I'm limbing stuff under 6 inches.

That saw looks to be in good shape.  I wouldn't want it with an 18 inch bar, though.  Both mine match nicely with 16 inch bars.

You gonna sell it of keep it?

I'm going to put a 16" or smaller bar. Got to see what I got on hand.

As soon as I get the air filter and fine tune carb she can go to a new home. I'm not planning on keeping any saw I own IMO ;) well maybe 1 or 2 LOL.  They all live on my shelves on borrowed time.   :D
I have a co-worker waiting on this one to be finished so they can stop by in the future and try 3 of my small saws out.  2 poulans and this echo.

Let me know what you have in mind  in a PM. I can let it go PHO since you have bars and chains.

Well I found a 64dl 325 15" bar and put it on the 3900 yesterday. Figured the new air filter would be here Mon in the mail.

Only thing was when I went to test it with new set up it fired off but didnt start like it had been. Then I pulled and pulled and pulled and it never fired again.   :P :P

So I put the spark tester on it no spark again.  :-X :-\  I'm cleaning the contact plate (after I get the flywheel off) and all connections again.
If she dont have spark after all of this I am just going to assume the coils for these are a problem area.

Found it during halftime. Where the plug wire goes into the coil.

Anyone know how these plug wires are attached to the coil inside?  Do they screw in or glued in?

Wish now I hadnt thrown the old bad coil away so I could dissect it.

This new used coil quit again today. I'm going to pull the plug wire from coil to take a look some how later.

I'm not going to buy another coil.

If this dont fix it trying to remove old plug wire  and put another in it's gone or will be parted out.

The coil is dead for sure now.  ;D

The plug wire wouldnt twist out like a husky so I just pulled the snot out of the wire and it came apart deep in the coil. So I then took a hacksaw to see how it was made in there and it was permanently attached.

I'm done with this 3900 because I am not paying $80 for a new coil and all it needs IMHO.

Trades or offers and will be listing in the trade section.

Also still have a new never used 3900 air filter in route.  ::)
