I remember some years ago (the millennium) . . . . My wife had been watching PTL news and she asked me what I was going to do about the new year? Remember, that was the year that all the doom sayers were convinced that the world was coming to an end. She thought all the computers were going to crash and we'd never have electricity again?

I told her that I was going to set in the chair and watch Turner Classic Movies if there was anything decent coming on.

"What about all the things that are going to happen"? She said . .  .

I guess I blew her bubble but I said that "you better believe that the power company would be out there in full force if the power went out because they wanted their money".
