Alternate for the blue Prestolite coil. Cheap substitute
« on: March 25, 2017, 08:49:45 pm »
I did post this up on the piggy, AS and OPE sites with details.

Cheap fix alternate module. The real Husky units work as well but at a much higher cost.

4 stars!  Great workaround that makes all the difference in keeping the older units running.

I picked one up on e-bay $12 free shipping for my Husky 55 and one for my 41 I bought a second for my 55 because I didn't think it would hold up. It is working well and holding up plug and play not problems. for 12 bucks I didn't think it would last but it has had no problems. The saw is a 1983 cuts like it was new. Heard allot of good things about Hultz you can buy an MS 660 kit and there are bolt for bolt instruction on the build and what parts to get OEM and what parts are good. Not many OEM parts for $280 you can't go wrong. It actually looks easy one guy even came up with a way to pull the crank through using 3/4" threaded rod and a couple of other things. Here is the link to his You tube site https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEMS_4I0mBD72mTlGRhIXCA
I have to many saws to repair but some day I will buy one of those kits they come in different sizes and brands all made in China or Japan. There is also another guy doing the same thing I don't remember his web site and I have seen some of the saws he built and was using them daily. I hope some one does one of these build I would be interested in that thread!!
