You are 100% correct; I have not figured out the Deere.  Mainly because I rarely run it, and it has a lot of compression so my shoulder gives out before it gives in  :P .  That Deere is more of conversation piece in the garage, than one I really wanted to use regularly.  One of the boys works for John Deere and it's a fun saw to have around.  I really love it.

Back to the oil ratio; I was thinking to tune all my saws to 32:1 and the bearings get a healthier dose of oil too.  Am I wrong to make that assumption?
I get in trouble for looking at saws.  She thinks 6 is enough, for firewood and keeping the property trimmed. ( I really like this site )
