husqvarna 235 muffler

I have a husqvarna 235 chainsaw. The muffler keeps stopping up. Tried to order a new muffler but husqvarna has discontinued the 235. They said the muffler off a 435 would fit though it doesn't look the same. What can I do to the old muffler to make it work? Thank you for any help. Mike270

There may be another problem?

None of my saws have ever had anything in the muffler but a light coating of smut or wet oil.

Screen clogging up?    The 235 is a poulan motor PP3516. What about the muffler is it husky or poulan muffler?
